The First Trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders Has Released And It Definitely Impresses Us.

Netflix has finally dropped the first trailer for The Defenders, the much-hyped limited series combining Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist into a superheroic team.

The Defenders trailer starts, as Misty Knight questions Jessica Jones about a break-in. And just when it seems like Jessica might be locked in, the interrogation is interrupted by Matt Murdock, using his legendary “I’m your lawyer” superpowers to get Jessica Jones out. It’s an intelligent way to put all heroes together, and a welcome sign that The Defenders’ blend of complementary talents and weaknesses won’t strictly be limited to punching.

And that brings us to the Marvel Netflix Universe: Iron Fist. To its credit, The Defenders seems to understand that Danny Rand is the dud in this particular package of firecrackers every time he shows up in the trailer to say something dumb and whiny, another Defender immediately pops up to roll their eyes at him. If the rest of the Defenders are willing to treat Danny like the obnoxious kid brother he is—albeit one with a particularly useful glowing fist he may just fit into this lineup after all.

It was just five years ago that The Avengers hit theaters, giving Marvel fans the unprecedented joy of seeing characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor share the big screen.
